How many kinds of ACPE activities are there?

There are three kinds of ACPE activities:  Knowledge-based, Application-based and Practice-based.  The ACPE differentiates them as follows:  Knowledge-based activities are designed, for the most part, to “transmit knowledge”.  Application-based activities are those activities created to apply the new information during the activity’s allowed time frame.  Practice-based CPE activities are designed to “instill, expand, or enhance practice competencies through the systematic achievement of specified knowledge, skills, attitudes and performance behaviors.”

More information about these types and their requirements can be found in Policy 2.0 of the CPE Policies and Procedure Manual.
