Are there requirements for developing a “participation threshold” for MOC activities?

As you may know, a participation threshold is a required component for an MOC activity.  It is simply a “passing standard” that communicates clearly to the learner what exactly must be done in order to earn MOC credit and it will vary depending on the evaluation being used and the goals of the provider/education initiative.

One of the examples provided by the ACCME is as follows:

“If a provider uses a post-test as part of evaluation, the activity planners and/or faculty can determine the minimum number of items that the learners would need to answer correctly to demonstrate that they have adequately absorbed the content of the activity.”
