If we aren’t currently accredited with one of the three main boards (ACCME, ACPE, ANCC), can we still apply for Joint Accreditation?

Actually, no.  Organizations do need to be accredited (and in good standing!) by one of the main three boards to pursue Joint Accreditation.

Additionally, your organization is eligible only when:

  • Your structure and processes surrounding IPCE have been in place for (at minimum) the past 18 months.
  • At least 25% of your educational activities over the 18-month period can be categorized as “interprofessional” (including multiple professions represented in the planning process).
  • You can demonstrate compliance with the Joint Accreditation Criteria.

The complete initial accreditation process for Joint Accreditation can be found here.
