Is a post-test required to evaluate changes in learners achieved for enduring materials?

No, there is no post-test requirement for enduring materials.  CME providers must assess learners to measure achievement of the educational purpose and/or learning objective(s) (AMA requirement); however, a post-test is not a requirement; this aligns with ACCME’s Criterion 11.  The key is that the accredited provider continue to advance learners’ change, whether that be in terms of competence, performance, and/or patient outcomes, utilizing whichever mechanism was determined to be appropriate during the planning process.
