If the AI company’s mission and function meet these conditions defined by ACCME, they can be considered an eligible organization: 1) providing clinical services directly to patients, or 2) the education of healthcare professionals, or 3) to serve as fiduciary to patients, the public, or population health, and other organizations that are not otherwise ineligible. If the AI company (or a parent company) produces, markets, sells, re-sells or distributes healthcare products used by or on patients, it should be considered an ineligible organization. If you’re unsure about a particular AI company, you can use ACCME’s corporate structure review process to confirm its eligibility.
