In order to earn Practice Assessment MOC points, is a physician required to participate in every step of the quality improvement process?

According to the ACCME, no.  The accredited provider must define a minimum threshold for MOC activity participation.  They clarify that “physician learners are likely to participate in one or more of the areas outlined in ABIM’s requirements for Practice Assessment activities, but participation in every step of the quality improvement process is not an ABIM requirement”.

For more information on the requirements for Practice Assessment MOC points, see page 10 of the ABIM’s MOC Assessment Recognition Program Guide.
