What Does it Mean to Identify a Practice Gap and the Underlying Educational Need?

A practice gap is a measurement of disparity between the existing level of knowledge/competence/performance or patient outcome and the desired level, specific to your learners. Reasons contributing to why the measured gap exists, provide information as to the underlying educational need of learners if a CME activity is to impact the measured gap.
