What is considered to be a “fair and balanced” view of diagnostic and therapeutic options?

Standard 1 is focused on providers taking responsibility for creating education that is “fair and balanced” that supports safe and effective care for patients.  “Fair” in this context means that the CE itself must be free from commercial bias, not promoting any products or services.  “Balanced” means that the emphasis must be based on a reasonable and valid interpretation of the information available on the subject, and that no one product or service is represented more than other available equal options.  (Standard 1: Ensure Content is Valid).
