What is “DEI” when it comes to CME?

“DEI” stands for “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” and is featured in the ACCME’s 2022-2026 Strategic Plan as one of the five central objectives.  The ACCME will reward those providers who actively work to incorporate DEI into all aspects of the CE program.  The main objectives include creating/supporting a culture of mutual respect, inclusivity, and equity, and facilitating understanding that DEI principles will benefit everyone involved – the patients and the healthcare professionals, alike.  You can find DEI resources here: http://www.accme.org/diversity-equity-inclusion-resources.
