What is the ACCME’s “30-minute rule” for marketing and exhibits?

Standard 5 deals with the management of ancillary activities that are offered in conjunction with accredited CE and includes the “30-minute rule”.  In the spirit of maintaining distinguishable distance between accredited education and other activities, any marketing, exhibits, or nonaccredited education that has been created with any influence from ineligible companies (or individuals associated with them) can not take place in the educational space within 30 minutes before or after the activity itself.
