With the adoption of the new Standards, do we need to modify our accreditation statement or other material to replace “continuing medical education” with “continuing education”?

No changes have been made to either the Accreditation Statement or the Accreditation Statement Policy.  To be inclusive of all health professions, the ACCME has chosen to update the language in the Standards, but there is no requirement for you, as a provider, to change your terminology.  Providers are welcome to use the terms “continuing medical education” or “CME” as is appropriate.
